Takeover Radio is run for young people who are between 8 and 17 years old, have an interest in media and an outgoing personality. Naturally kidz want to contact us on line, so this section is to inform them, and their Parents of our Children's Privacy Policy.

Whether playing, shopping, studying or just surfing, today's kids are taking advantage of all the web has to offer. But when it comes to their personal information on line, parents are often concerned. We are conscious of the need for website operators to make sure kids privacy is protected while they are online, without reducing their enjoyment and freedom.

As an International site we have voluntarily adopted a Privacy Policy which follows the principles embodied in the American 1998 Children's Online Privacy Protection Act in law since April 21st 2000.

We encourage children under 15 to talk with parents before giving out any information, so feel free to check this site which should be guaranteed child-safe content.

When we receive details from a child, parents will receive an initial telephone call from one of our adult organisers, before we send our postal pack, including parents' guide, membership payment form and information on Takeover Radio.

• Information collected on this site is limited to the precise fields shown in our online joining form and to email entries for competitions and quizzes, product survey requests, prize draws, and radio station promotional offers

• Information collected in this manner is used for the purpose of response to a one time request for Crew Membership and to distribute printed material by post, respond via email or telephone to such enquiries. Parental consent is not legally required for this express purpose but Parents are welcome to request information and are contacted within the process. We also use email, postal or telephone response information to contact prize winners, competition entrants and other responding children who may be emailed to offer membership opportunities.

• No information collected on line in any manner, nor from subsequent Crew Membership is used for associated marketing, nor passed to any third parties for such purposes.

• All voting/rating surveys on line are anonymous and collect statistics such as age/sex/country of origin only, and general preference data, and do not include personal contact details.

• No contact information on children under the age of 18 is passed from Takeover Radio to any organisation or individual without express prior permission of Parents.

• Access to children's contact details within Takeover Radio is limited and controlled by Takeover Radio and only Managers and Charity Trustees who have been positively vetted have access to such information. (Crew Members may exchange contact details themselves by mutual consent) .

• Parents will be notified if information collection on this site changes in a "material" way or if new services or legislation changes are introduced which affect privacy matters

• Parents may review any and all personal information collected and held by Takeover Radio about their own children with suitable identity verification.

• Parents may revoke any consent given, or ask that children's information may be deleted from our Database and the site will stop using any such information

• Parental consent will be considered given for any young people taking part in media activities. Parents may revoke their consent by contacting the management of the station at any time.
