Hundreds of Radio Stations Broadcast #MentalHealthMinute

Hundreds of radio stations came together today to broadcast the #MentalHealthMinute simultaneously.

At 10.59am on the 18th of May, it doesn’t matter which radio station you were listening to, you most likely heard the same thing. To launch 2020’s Mental Health Awareness Week, a number of organisations joined forces to produce an audio message and video from the likes of  The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Anthony Joshua, Dua Lipa, Harry Kane and David Tennant, all giving a very important message; “we are all connected, and you are not alone.”.

We were just one of hundreds of stations who broadcast the #MentalHealthMinute which was created by Radiocentre, the industry body for commercial radio, with the Royal Foundation’s Heads Together Charity. Despite being a community radio station and not a commercial station, we, along with many other community radio stations thought that it was more important than ever before to come together and spread the message. With the support of the Community Media Association, many community stations also participated in the important broadcast.
