Takeover Radio has been training young people in radio production and presentation since 1996 and has been operating the UK's first children and young persons radio station since 2002.

We have had many successes with students going on to work in the media. Both TV and radio:

  • Andy May: Following our training Andy won the RAFTA (Radio Academy Fast Track Award) award for Best newcomer of the Year in 2003 and he was only 16 at the time. Andy received a scholarship from the BBC and is now working at BBC Radio Manchester on their Saturday afternoon sports show.

  • Jamie Wilson: After our initial training Jamie went on the present our Saturday morning show. He has now completed a media degree at Bournemouth University, and secured a full time position on CBBC's Saturday morning show "Dick and Dom in da Bungalow" as a production assistant.
